MP’s Disco Top 15 Part 5 (Reconstructed)

The High-Energy Peak: MP’s Disco Top 15 Part 5 (Reconstructed)

The smooth grooves have shifted into high gear. Welcome to the electric side of the late 80s. Part 5 (Reconstructed) accelerates the tempo, capturing the explosive transition where Hi-NRG pop collided with the raw, emerging sounds of House music.

If Part 4 was the warm-up, MP’s Disco Top 15 Part 5 is the peak hour. This is the music that defined the high-energy dancefloors of 1987-1988, moving away from slow jams and straight into the driving beats that kept the clubs moving until dawn.

This mix is a relentless journey through the era’s most infectious rhythms. It kicks off with the funk-laden “Stand Up” by Hindsight, but quickly ramps up the intensity. You’ll hear the polished, radio-ready power of Taylor Dayne and The Jets perfectly balanced against the underground club sounds of Krush’s “House Arrest” and the production wizardry of Jellybean.

By the time you hit the B-side reconstruction, the lines between Pop, Freestyle, and House have completely blurred. It’s a sonic snapshot of a Saturday night in 1988, preserved perfectly in this digital reconstruction.

Clear the floor and let the rhythm take over.

  • DJ Bio: Marko got infected by the music virus at a young age, listening to the top 40 and Ferry Maat’s soul show. He played school parties at 12 years old, was a DJ at a pirate radio station, started playing in discos at 16, and got booked for his first international gig at 17 years old. His passion for telling a story and his ambition of taking the audience on a journey does not make him the most accessible, but more of an acquired taste. His mix tapes became quite popular both in Holland and abroad. Now through the magic of the Nakamichi, we can enjoy those sounds again like they were recorded yesterday.
